How to play Sudoku Sama
Read the placement question above the 6×6 grid. Choose an empty cell in the specified row, then tap CONFIRM. The correct placement completes the challenge—you do not fill every empty cell.
Sudoku Sama is a daily puzzle app for iPhone and iPad. This page is a reading guide, not a playable browser game. Today’s puzzle is free, and there is no timer.
1. Read the question
A question such as “Where does 6 go in row 3?” gives you both the number and the row to examine. Count rows from top to bottom and columns from left to right. In that example, only empty cells in the third row are possible answers.
2. Use the clues to choose a cell
Each row, column, and 2×3 box must contain 1–6 without repeating a number. Check which candidate cells would break those rules. A 6 already in a column rules out another 6 in that column; a 6 already in a box rules out another 6 in that box.
Some puzzles take several deductions before the target is clear. “One key placement” describes your final answer, not a promise that the reasoning always takes one step. Start with the 6×6 Sudoku rules, then follow our original worked placement example.
3. Select and confirm
Tap the empty cell where you think the requested number belongs. The app shows the selected row and column. Tap CONFIRM to submit that position. If it is incorrect, tap TRY AGAIN and reconsider the clues.
4. Revisit the steps with HOW?
After completing the puzzle, tap HOW? to replay the numbered steps and watch the grid fill in. This is a step replay, rather than a written explanation of every solving technique. REVIEW lets you revisit a completed puzzle.
On this website, the worked example includes a written explanation of why its exclusions are valid.
5. Read, or return another day

What changes with Premium?
Today’s puzzle is free. Premium gives access to past puzzles in the Archive, lets you build a collection from completed puzzles, and adds a member profile card to save or share. Monthly and annual subscriptions are available. Check the app’s subscription screen for your local price.
Can I keep progress on another device?
Progress is saved locally. Optional iCloud Sync syncs Daily completion dates and grades and Archive collection dates and grades. It does not sync the original puzzle boards, readings, answers, display name, or preferences. Reviewing a restored result depends on relevant puzzle content being available. See support and sync details before deleting the app to troubleshoot.
No Sudoku Sama account is required. Apple Account and iCloud account requirements still apply to purchases and optional sync. The privacy policy explains downloads, optional analytics, and purchase reporting.
